Mid Century Modern Restoration 

Here at OP Woodcraft we don’t just offer a traditional mid century modern refinishing service. Sometimes we like to take a piece to the next aesthetical level.

Tapping into my artistic side allows me to redesign a piece sympathetically but with contemporary style.

The two mid century pieces you can see here are a G plan writing desk and a Nathan sideboard. Both fully stripped, disassembled, neutralised, sanded through the grades, partly painted in acrylic eggshell and wooden components stained with Van dyke crystal water stain manipulated by a frog tape design.

The stain can create infinite shades of brown which I’ve used to create a dynamic finish. All wooden elements were finished with a satin osmo hardwax oil.
