My Oxford client wanted bespoke birch plywood shelving with contemporary and light aesthetics. We hand crafted 3 units, one to house a whopping music collection, the second to act as a TV unit / bookcase and the third to home a huge book collection.

Crafted in 24mm and 18mm Birch plywood the units have a big presence but paired back due to the light tones of the birch and an inside chamfer routed away to soften the edges. The added addition of the mid century style feet grounds the units in a lighter way.

The plywood units were hand finished in Blanchon wood environment which is a water based finish. This doesn’t penetrate the grain as much keeping the light tone which an oil couldn’t.
