Contemporary Furniture Refinishing

This stunning utility writing desk dates back to the 1920’s but wanted to bring it into the 21st Century as sympathetically as possible.

The carcass and interior were stripped, neutralised, sanded through the grades, stain blocked and painted in calke green by Farrow and Ball giving its contemporary twist.

The drawers had the same preperation but decided to French polish to a high sheen finishing it off with antique brass handles. The combination of all 3 elements works very well.

This piece sold whilst setting up at an exhibition in Brighton.
